The Small Business Opportunity Center is pleased to provide you with access to the training events for multiple entrepreneurship and small businesses support agencies and organizations below who our partners of our Center. THE SMALL BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY CENTER COMMERCIALIZATION ACADEMY


Each Spring, Summer & Fall Semester, our center offers a FREE VIRTUAL & IN-PERSON BUSINESS ACADEMY WITH BUSINESS TRAINING worth over $5,000 to entrepreneurs who enroll. Both live and on-demand courses available. Participants can expect to complete the training in approximately 2 months. Participants must complete at least 5 training sessions by the end of each training academy in which they enroll to receive a Certificate of Completion, graduation books, the opportunity to participate in the pitch competition which is exclusively for SBOC-trained entrepreneurs, and other awards. 

Our academy is currently being enhanced to offer specialized training for entrepreneurs interested in rural areas and those interested in state of Virginia prioritized industry sectors, including health/life and biosciences, tech and information, professional and business services, and manufacturing. We offer this training in collaboration  with several of our partners across the Greater Richmond area, Hampton Roads, the Fredericksburg/Mary Ball Washington region, and Northern Virginia.
